After paying into an insurance policy for many years without fail it can be particularly galling to find that the insurance company refuses to pay when you think you have a valid claim or that the amount of compensation you are offered does not reflect anything like your true entitlement.

There is only so much you can do on your own after being ignored and dismissed by insurers.

You could engage the services of a loss assessor, who can help you determine the value of your claim and who will fight your corner against the loss adjuster, who works for the insurers, and is generally trying to keep your claim down.

However, even loss assessors have no “teeth” in that there is little they can do other than negotiate, they are not allowed to issue and run Court proceedings on your behalf.
